San Francisco Bay Area letterboxes.

From: Bob LaBelle (rll1924@linkny.com) | Date: 2001-06-18 06:12:48 UTC
Been enjoying my stay with kin in Pleasanton, just over the ridge
from the Bay. Awful hot in the afternoon sun (mid-90's) but cool at
night so far; seen worse . . . Went looking for the SF Bay
Wildlife Refuge boxes - it's cooler over there than here in the
Livermore Valley. Found Nos. 2 & 3 quite readily, but not No. 1 - in
two tries. Very small 1/2-cup white plastic containers were used,
with stamps the size of a postage stamp. That's all right, but I
wasn't looking for anything so small when I searched for No. 1.
Still, I bet it's gone. I was second finder on #2 and first on #3,
by the way, so letterboxing hasn't caught on here yet, it seems.
Wish I could have gotten over to the Presidio, but other things -
like a high school graduation and related activities - intervened.
Yes, I did place one myself, and clues for the new Pleasanton
Ridge Regional Park letterbox will be up shortly after I return to NY.

Hi Bob, Glad you were able to pick up the stamps for the Fremont area. We
tried 2 weeks ago and got skunked. We thought they had been lost. Don &
